Run - Border run - part 2
29th October 2075-
At the standoff at the airfield, Mr Johnson snarled.
"I'll call in the transport, but you have to get us safe. Whoever is out there isn't just waiting - they're observing us and probably calling astral backup. You need to do something!"
Stanley slumped against the side of the Hyundai with the missing windshield, scouring the matrix for opposition. He discovered the telltale icon signature of weaponry in the far hangar 500m down the airfield,.
Context began running for the nearest building for cover, a good 300 metres away. Opening his third eye and scanning the astral realm as he went, he saw a tall slim man, dressed in a black suit with red shirt, with a thin black moustache and goatee. Around his neck was slung an aztec medallion, and next to him stood a large human shaped mound of swirling dirt, The suit winked at Context evilly, before Context snapped back to the real world.
Longtime the sniper zoomed in on the far building with his powerful vision enhancing goggles and found a target. His Cavalier EBR rang out and scored a hit.
Johnson crouched down between the two runner vehicles.
Moments later the earth elemental Context had spotted in the astral realm materialised. The opposition in the hangar began laying down suppressing fire, while Stanley got to work bricking their electronics. The elemental begins using his magical attacks on the crew. Context fires manaballs at the spirit, while Arthur blasts it with her shotgun and Longtime switches his targeting to it as well. Longtime's incredible gymnastics skills keep him out of harm's way but Arthur takes a magical blast of granite and is seriously injured. Down in the hangar Stanley takes out more weaponry, and sees one of the spec ops team throw out a grenade, Longtime impressively takes out a second operative (the remaining third's weapon sparking on the ground thanks to Stanley) before firing a semiautomatic burst at the earth spirit, disrupting it. Stanley sets off another thermal smoke grenade on the remaining operative's belt. Whoomp.
Following the firefight, the team predictably set to looting as much as possible, ignoring Mr Johnson and the mission. His transport VTOL lands on the airfield and he boards it. As it takes off, Mr Johnson exclaims that he almost feels bad, and tosses something out of the t-bird. Longtime charges up to it and discovers it is a credstick. The team search the hangar but cannot find the third operative. Realising how badly wounded Arthur is, and how badly shaken up Longtime and Context still are from the car crash earlier, the team search the airfield for first aid supplies. Context sustains a detect life spell, and using this they find the remaining spec op in the building containing the medical area. Using their thermographic vision enhancements the team get the drop on the unarmed operative, dropping him with stick&shock rounds. The crew steal his equipment and clothes, and tie him up in the boot of the stolen Hyundai.
The team make their way back to Hong Kong. The tattooed troll at the checkpoint smugly waves the runners back over the Canton border. The runners spend a while arguing whether to go back and rob him, but considering the stolen car with the kidnap victim in the boot, they wisely choose not to.
They take the hostage back to their pad (where Lomax, Longtime and Context live) and start interrogating him. They tie him up on top of their toilet and threaten him. They learn he is called Terry, and he works for Aztechnology as a high threat response operative. He has always lived in the corp village and does not know many more details about the mission, although he is able to name the mage that Context spotted as an executive called Yaotl. The crew decide he is more useful to them alive, and hack his commlink and explain that they may need a favour from him in future. They drug him, take some awful photographs of him in compromising positions with the runners, and pay a cab to drive him back to the Aztech corp sector.

The crew then head to the Banshee to retrieve their pay from Johnson. Unfortunately this is where things fall apart. Kenned doesn't know anything about this arrangement. Mr Johnson has stiffed them! They still have the credstick he tossed them when he left, totalling 10k nuyen. The runners swear revenge on him, should they ever be able to track him down.
While the crew simmer and lick their wounds, Cheese contacts them - one of his sources knows who attacked the runners on the motorway - it was Humanis Policlub, although they do not know why.
While they consider their next move, Smokey contacts Stanley - Bear has been acting very strangely and the squatter is worried about him. Your move, runners.
